Thursday's Thought

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me-C.S. Lewis

Love this quote, and the one in your header! I agree with both!

I just finished "Four Queens: The Provencal Sisters Who Ruled Europe" by Nancy Goldstone (nonfiction) and "Swan" by Frances Mayes, of "Under the Tuscan Sun" fame. I love history, and really enjoyed "Four Queens," as it was an interesting look at powerful women during the 13th Century. I also really enjoyed "Swan." It was a page turner. However, it wasn't as beautifully written as her nonfiction memoir, "Under the Tuscan Sun", which was one of the most beautifully written books I've read.

By the way, I got "Bleak House" and am planning on starting it soon. Did you ever seen the PBS mini-series? How does it compare? I loved it!

I did see the mini-series. It was incredibly well done. It was VERY accurate, and surprisingly didn't cut out a whole lot. Then again, it was over 7 hours long! =) If you liked the series, you'll love the book, promise!
