Appetizers

I need your help, ladies!! I consistently fall back on the "same ol' appetizers"--stuffed hot peppers, black bean salsa, fantastic franks! I need some new AND good recipes. Would you be willing to post your favorite appetizer recipes for me, and let me know when you do? I am looking for anything ranging from Superbowl snacks to dinner party hors d'ourves.

Thanks!!

ok.. so that isn't my recipe, or necessarily an appetizer, but it looked good. That article had a cool idea about "movie moment" foods. Wouldn't that be cool.. have a dinner and a movie party. Serving food that is memorabble in the movie. ok.. so maybe i am bit hungry right now. :)

hope you get some good recipes

Taco dip is so quick and super easy and always a hit. As are taco/tortilla roll ups.
I don't have the recipes for either, but there's probably millions on the web...try recipezaar.com or allrecipes.com.

I'm a major fan of seafood...and I have a recipe for a crab and soinach dip. I'm visiting my brother this weekend, so I don't have the recipe with me, but I'll get it to you. Happy Saturday!

What do you not like to eat? I'll see what I can come up with. I love bruschetta and have Doug Shriner's outstanding recipe if you want.

There's also a beautiful, fun veggie bouquet I made once. You take a head of cauliflower and stick it --whole--in a serving bowl as your base for the "flowers". Then you stick a bunch of bamboo skewers into the cauliflower. Slide a green onion over each skewer. Can you picture this? So now you have green stems. Then, onto each stem you put one of the following veggies: mushrooms, grape tomatoes, green/red/yellow/orange rings of pepper, broccoli, baby carrots, squash. Very colorful. But it took me 2 hours and I made a note in my book: don't serve this at your own party, take it elsehwere. Oh, I shouldn't have told you that. But anyway, too late. There it is. Take dip in a separate bowl. This one makes a great edible centerpiece!

I second the taco dip - it's my fall back appetizer, largely because it can contain whatever I have (or don't have!) around! I've done one as simple as cream cheese, a packet of taco seasoning, salsa, and some cheddar cheese. I've also added taco meat, green onions, and just about anything else you normally put on tacos. I usually layer it - cream cheese mixed with taco seasoning on the bottom, followed by the other stuff - but mixed works too, as long as the cheese gets on the top!
