Pairings and Recommendations
Miguel and I recently bought a wine fridge. We then promptly went to Wine World and bought a case of wine. Now I love to research food and wine pairings. With that said, here are my wine recommendations for Thanksgiving!
Main Course: Turkey (duh!)
Riesling: Schmitt Schone OR Chateau Ste Michelle
First one is German, second is from Washington St.
Pinot Grigio: Smoking Loon
California. We love everything Smoking Loon!
Beaujolais: Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages
This French wine is inexpensive ($7/bottle) , but you'd never guess that from the taste and quality! One of my favorites.
What are your favorites?? I am always wanting some new bottles to try!

You lush! ;) I can't give you any recommendations, but I can, however, recommend a Chick-fil-a cookies and cream milkshake :) Let's get together, please? When are you in my neck of the woods??
Laura
I love Pinot Grigio! I can't recommend many brands, because we always are trying something new. I should start keeping a wine journal, of sorts, so I can keep track of what we try. We currently have the Merloantico brand of Pinot Grigio, and it's very good.
Sometime when you're downtown, you MUST go to Trinacria. It's on Paca and is an authentic little Italian deli. They make fresh bread everyday. They have wonderful wine on the cheap.
Libby, don't listen to a word Laursie Parsy says, she's the judgmental one out of us three! Kidding. Don't ask what my pet name out of us three is, I don't even want to know what they've named me as...anyway, when I was in Johnson City, TN away for a college reunion, my girlfriends and I checked out this little wine cafe and I had the best wine I've ever tasted in my life. Our tab was $120, so it's expensive! Here is what my corks says: "PJ Valckenberg Worms am Rhein 333247". Highly recommend! I'm not a fan of Red and this was a blush color.
My two cents.
picture of the wine fridg please :-)
Wine! Not a connoisseur, but I love it!
I'm hear to say that I pretty much hate Riesling b/c it's often too sweet, but I really adore the Chateau Ste Michelle. It's SO good.
Smoking Loon - ditto! I have yet to have Smoking Loon I dislike.
Beaujolais - some of the best 'table wine' out there, I swear. Remind your friends, that it DOES NOT have a long shelf life, so don't save it - DRINK IT!!! :)
My faves: Dancing Bull Zinfandel, Rosemount Estate Shiraz, Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, Concha y Toro Carmenere Casillero del Diablo (I've had a hard time finding it).
Thanks Libster! I've always liked wine, I've just always been embarrassed to order it because I don't know what should go with what! I think I'm going to pick up some Pinot Grigio: Smoking Loon for Thanksgiving at my parents house. I'll impress everyone! But if everyone hates it, I'll blame it all on you... just so you know! :)
Dibs,
Thanks for the post... We tried the Smoking Loon and everyone loved it! Except for Laura... she thinks she'll lose her salvation if she drinks it, plus shes prego!
